Both LMCs will be closed during AP testing, May 6-17th. Carrie or Melissa will be available in J171 if you need anything. The Main LMC staff is accessible before or after testing each day, but it would probably be best just to email any of us if you need anything. Questions? Let us know.
Our LMC databases have a ton of quality information from books, magazines, newspapers, academic journals, etc, but you can’t search all of them at once. Luckily, a few of the companies that provide our databases provide a search interface that lets you search all (or most) of their products at once. For example, Gale PowerSearch lets you search biographical, news, social issues, reference books, and science content with just one search interface. Easy to use and saves you some time if you or your students are looking for materials for a project or lesson plan. Articles can also be shared with Google Classroom.
Audiobook Sync is a summer program that lets you download you own copy of selection of free audiobooks that you can keep. Normally, that would be a pretty pricey bill. The catch is that they only feature two each week and you have to download them within that week. The program runs Thursday to Thursday for 10 weeks. That’s 20 free audiobooks! The program started this past Thursday, so you have 2 more days to download the first two. There are always some great books on the list, so sign up to receive emails alerting you to new titles each week. Great for summer trips, especially if you have a middle or high school student or if you just enjoy some good stories.
